NERC CIP Compliance
Previously voluntary reliability programs administered under the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) are transitioning to mandatory standards under the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which has the authority to levy fines for non-compliance.
The NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Cyber Security standards CIP-002 thru CIP-009 require applicable entities to put in place policies, procedures, and systems in order to protect critical cyber assets from cyber threats.
Ibridge has been involved in helping one of America’s largest electric utilities obtain compliance with these new security standards. Our team of consultants has been heavily involved in the process of identifying the compliance gap, and then developing appropriate processes and procedures to fill that gap.
Ibridge has the experience, know-how, and proper judgment to assist utilities with obtaining NERC compliance.” Said Paul Dore, Company President. “The task appears daunting, but with hard work and the right approach it can be accomplished without bankrupting your treasury or compromising on the standards. The key is putting processes in place to make constant vigilance part of the daily routine.”
